Brad Morris
Brad Morris has worked in the parks and recreation field for over 20 years. He currently works with the City of San Ramon Parks and Community Services Department as a Program Manager where he is responsible for Adult and Youth Sports Programming, Sports Facilities, Aquatics and Fitness Races.
Prior to working for the City of San Ramon, Brad worked for the City of Foster City for three years. Before that he started his public servant employment with the City of Rocklin.
Although his positions and titles have changed over the years, his passion and interest has always been sports programming. He was instrumental in bringing the City of San Ramon to the fore front of quality youth sports programming through his work with the "Magnet Center for Youth Sports." With Brad's involvement, the City of San Ramon was chosen by the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA) as one of only 37 communities asked to participate in the Magnet Center for Youth Sports—a group established to analyze youth sports programs nationwide. From the Magnet Center for Youth Sports' work came a nationwide program called "Good Sports," which is sponsored by NRPA, Sports Illustrated and Dodge. The Good Sports Program provides communities a template on which to develop quality youth sports programming, and encourages communities across the U.S. to educate parents, coaches and children about what constitutes good sportsmanship. As part of the Good Sports Program, a nationwide search was launched to recognize communities implementing the Good Sports philosophy. In 2006, the City of San Ramon was recognized as one of nine communities named as finalists in the Good Sports search. Brad enjoys playing such an important role in the lives of the youth of today by making their youth sports experience a positive one.
Brad graduated from California State University, Sacramento in 1993 with a Bachelors of Science in Recreation Administration. He has been involved in both local and state recreation associations and continues to look forward to new challenges in his career. Brad is a native Californian and enjoys spending time with his family and occasionally hitting the golf course.
