Ed Conn serves as Western Region Manager for National Geographic Traveler, responsible for the advertising and marketing needs for Traveler clients in the Western U.S. and Pacific. Over the past 9 years, Ed has developed successful marketing programs that integrate the National Geographic properties for travel accounts such as Tourism Australia, Japan, Alaska, Oregon, New Zealand, and California. Ed has been focused on the travel and entertainment sector of the media business for the past 20 years.
Prior to National Geographic Traveler, Ed was the publisher of Performing Arts magazine, the program publication for the Los Angeles Music Center, the San Francisco Ballet, the San Francisco Opera, Orange County Performing Arts Center, the Hollywood Bowl and 30 other theater and stage venues throughout California. Preceding his work at Performing Arts, Ed was the Western Advertising Director for the Los Angeles Times as well as holding other sales and management positions over a 10 year period.
Ed holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from the School of Journalism at the University of Oregon. He currently sits on the Board of Directors at the St. Michael’s School located in South Los Angeles. Ed has been a guest lecturer for Sustainable Tourism courses taught at Cal Poly in 2008 and 2009. He is a passionate scuba diver and counts the Channel Islands as having some the best dive sites in the world.
