Jacqueline Harder Mireles
Jacqueline Harder Mireles has more than 16 years experience in the field of Human Resources. Throughout her career she has focused her expertise in the areas of wage administration, personnel policies, staffing, benefit plans, performance appraisals, and workers compensation administration. Jacqueline spent five years with Santa Barbara Ceramic Design and seven years with Pacific Staff Management as the Human Resource Director before accepting a position with the Chumash Casino Resort.
As the Senior Human Resource Manager for the Chumash Casino Resort, she oversees staffing and benefits for the 1,700 employees. Jacqueline has significantly reduced employee turnover rates, which now exceed industry standards, with the implementation of candidate screening quality control systems. She executed the installation of an online applicant tracking system which resulted in increasing the applicant pool by 80%. Jacqueline developed a two day Career Workshop that was presented to descendents of the Santa Ynez Band of Mission Indians in the summer of 2010 and plans to introduce the curriculum to area high schools in 2011. Jacqueline is responsible for building a competitive and comprehensive benefit package that leverages cost and quality for the entire Chumash labor force. Additionally Jacqueline created the Chumash Wellness Committee to promote a work life balance environment for the Chumash workforce. She hosts an annual Health Fair, organizes flu shot clinics and stocks a wellness library in the team member cafeteria.
Jacqueline currently serves on the Santa Ynez Valley Union High School District Economic Advisory Council and is a member of both the Santa Barbara Human Resource Association and the Society for Human Resource Management. She served as a member of National Association of Professional Employers Organization for six years and is a past member of the Santa Maria Human Resource Association.
Jacqueline was raised in the San Francisco Bay Area and moved to the Central Coast in 1982. She received her bachelor’s degree in Communications from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
