Paul Romero

Paul Romero is currently the Executive Director of the California Association of Park and Recreation Commissioners and Board Members. He was previously the Deputy Director of California State Parks and the Chief Administrative Officer of the Santa Clara Valley Water District. Other previous positions include Acting Director, Environmental Resource Agency, Santa Clara County; Director of Parks and Recreation, Santa Clara County; and Director of Park and Recreation, Riverside County. He is a member of the California Roundtable for Recreation, Parks and Tourism; the State of California, Outdoor Recreation Planning Committee; and a member of the Strategic Planning Committee, California Park and Recreation Society. His numerous awards include the William Penn Mott, Jr. Award of Excellence, National Society for Park Resources; Fellow Award, National Association of County Park and Recreation Officials; Standard of Excellence and Leadership Awards from the California Park and Recreation Society, and the Distinguished Professional Award from this same organization.
