Picture of Terry MacraeTerry MacRae is Chief Executive Officer and owner of Hornblower Cruises & Events, and numerous affiliates involved in various aspects of operation and ownership within the passenger vessel industry. He is part owner and a principal in Hornblower Marine Services, Inc., an international marine management services company. He has completed seven passenger vessel business acquisitions, successfully integrating them into Hornblower's operations.

After starting operations in Berkeley, CA, in 1980 with a single USCG certified 49 passenger vessel, Hornblower or its affiliates now operate 40 passenger vessels ranging from 49 to 2,000 passengers, including: Classic Motoryachts, T-Boats, H-Boats, High Speed Ferries, Car Ferries and Permanently Moored Historical Vessels which collectively operate on inland rivers and lakes, both coasts of the United States, and in international waters. Sailing under the Hornblower Cruises & Events flag, the Company operates in six home ports in California offering year round dining, entertainment and sightseeing cruises along with seasonal whale-watching using 200 full-time crew and 500 part-time crew with 6 senior managers and 40 mid-level managers. An affiliate, Alcatraz Cruises, commenced service to Alcatraz Island under a 10 year NPS concession contract in 2006.

Prior to co-founding Hornblower, Mr. MacRae was employed by Industrial Clean Air, Inc. as a Project Manager, Division Manager, and Vice-President and by Ecolaire Systems, Inc. as Senior Vice-President and Vice-President, Sales.

He graduated from California State Polytechnic University in 1973 with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering/Energy & Environmental Concentration. Mr. MacRae is a member of the InterFerry, SNAME and is a Past President and Director of the Passenger Vessel Association. He has served as a Director of the San Francisco Convention and Visitors Bureau Board of Directors and currently serves as the Vice Chairman of the California Travel and Tourism Commission.
