Cal Poly Professors and Coaches look forward to NRPTA's 50th Academic Quiz Bowl Competition

SAN LUIS OBISPO — Brian Greenwood, Professor and Bill Hendricks, Professor and Department Head of Cal Poly’s Recreation, Parks & Tourism Administration [RPTA] Department, will again lead the academic quiz bowl competition’s favored team on September 17, 2015 to the 2015 National Recreation & Park Association [NRPA] Academic Quiz Bowl Competition for the 50th annual NRPA Conference and Exposition in Las Vegas, Nevada. 

In the history of the NRPA Academic Quiz Bowl event, no other team with the exception of Cal Poly RPTA has captured multiple championships in 2010, 2012, and 2014. Six-year veteran coaches Greenwood and Hendricks look forward to another exiting academic quiz bowl competition on September 17 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Go Mustangs! 

The National Recreation and Park Association, in cooperation with the Council on Accreditation for Parks, Recreation and Tourism sponsors the 6th annual Quiz Bowl, an academic competition for undergraduate students from accredited programs in parks, recreation, and tourism. The Jeopardy style competition will allow students to showcase their parks and recreation knowledge while engaging in competition with dozens of students from around the country.  
 
Teams of four students representing accredited programs will be challenged to provide questions to answers that are given during the Quiz Bowl. In addition to participating in the Quiz Bowl, students will have the opportunity to attend educational sessions, network with thousands of professionals in their field, and see the industry’s largest trade show.
