SOLD! RPTA Auction and Dinner Wrap Up 2015
continued
“This year we decided on our theme, Cruisin' California, and gathered all of our donations with that theme in mind,” said Hobbs. “All of the silent auction baskets and live auction items were strategically gathered to make some of the most attractive and all-inclusive baskets we've ever had.”
The annual event would not have been as successful without the dedicated student volunteers who formed the planning committee, Hobbs said. The committee worked closely with Hobbs, staff member, Kathy Daniels, and Department Head Bill Hendricks to plan the event.
“The 2015 RPTA Auction and Dinner Committee set the bar high with record setting proceeds,” said Hendricks. “The student committee did an amazing job from the initial planning stages conceptualizing the design and decor, registration, sponsorship, marketing and promotions, food and beverage selection, and the auction itself, with no stone left unturned. Kudos to director Megan Hobbs, student chair Kendall Price, auction chair Keri Forsberg, and staff support Kathy Daniels for truly creating a Learn by Doing experience for the entire committee.”
The 2016 RPTA Auction and Dinner will be held Feb. 27, 2016 at The Cliffs Resort in Pismo Beach, Calif. The theme will be “RPTA in the Spotlight,” celebrating the major’s 40th anniversary on the Cal Poly campus, and the 15th year of the auction itself. Faculty member and next year’s event director Jennifer Prentice, who will lead the auction, said “Megan Hobbs and other previous event directors have done an excellent job increasing the quality of the auction each year. The 2016 auction committee, led by student chair Becky Long, is looking forward to making next year's auction the best one yet.”
