Cal Poly RPTA '08 Grad Krista Rupp promoted to Director of Sales and Marketing at Santa Cruz County Conference & Visitors Council

SANTA CRUZ, CA— The Santa Cruz County Conference & Visitors Council (CVC) is pleased to announce the promotion of Krista Rupp to Director of Sales & Marketing, who previously served in the position of Sales & Marketing Manager.  Krista’s background includes four years of experience at the CVC, preceded by boutique hotel sales roles at properties along the Central Coast and a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Recreation, Parks and Tourism Administration from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo.Bill Hendricks, professor and head of Cal Poly’s Recreation, Parks & Tourism Administration Department, was elected and inducted as a Fellow in the Academy of Leisure Sciences last week at the National Recreation and Park Association Conference in Las Vegas.

As Director of Sales & Marketing, Krista is responsible for developing and executing sales and marketing programs to generate group business for local hotels, with a primary focus on the Northern California corporate market.  Krista also works to position Santa Cruz County as a competitive international destination by establishing relationships within the travel trade network and connecting local hotel operators with international tour operators. Krista currently holds a board seat on the Central Coast Tourism Council, and is a member of the Meeting Professionals International Northern California Chapter and Silicon Valley Business Travel Association.
