In addition, four RPTA alumni were recognized at the Summit for their accomplishments in the field and as emerging leaders in the California Travel Industry. These individuals were: Krista Rupp '08), Sales and Marketing Manager with the Santa Cruz County Conference and Visitors Council; Corbie Smith ('10), Sales/Project Manager with the Napa Valley Destination Council; Courtney Winters ('11), Administrative Assistant with the City of Pismo Beach Conference and Visitors Bureau; and Molly Cano ('06), Director of Sales and Marketing with the San Luis Obispo County Visitors and Conference Bureau. RPTA Advisory Council member Caroline Beteta, CEO of Visit California, presented on "The Power of Partnerships-From Local to Global" and "Brand USA Panel: the United States of America Welcomes You," co-moderated by Chris Perkins, Chief Marketing Officer of Brand USA. In addition, Dr. Hendricks moderated two sessions, "Opportunities for You in the Industry as a Young Professional" and the "Student Orientation." Dr. Hendricks and conference attendees had the opportunity to visit the Capital and speak with legislative representatives to discuss the importance of the travel and tourism industry as well as the importance of California State Parks.

This year's Cal Travel Summit was well attended by Cal Poly RPTA faculty, students and alumni and once again, the department demonstrated its ability to produce successful industry professionals who truly shine.
